Anglian Water

Anglian Water Group Case Study

One of the leading providers of water and wastewater services in the UK, Anglian Water Group (AWG) is located in the east of England.  AWG decided that radical restructuring of the business was required to gain maximum benefit for all stakeholders whilst clarifying regulatory issues in relation to the regulated and non-regulated parts of the business.  They proposed splitting AWG to ring fence the regulated business as a separate company AWS financed by debt rather than equity.  This restructuring and break-up of the AWG business relied on a number of separate initiatives which

Vizone reviewed and incorporated into a single programme including:

  • Bondholders re-financing requirements and trading predictions.
  • The setting up of a separate regulated water and wastewater business.
  • Maximisation of value from non-regulated businesses including disposals.
  • The creation of a small PLC.
  • The creation of a ring fenced service company AWS.
