AXA Case Study

AXA appointed Vizone to implement the core administration platform for its Protection Account which offers a range of lifestyle protection products, including Life Cover, Critical Illness Cover and Income Protection.  The stability of the platform has allowed AXA to expand its business and win several awards in the Life Insurance market, including winner of What Mortgage Magazine's award for Best Life Insurance Provider in 2007.

With 110,000 employees and distributors worldwide, AXA is a world leader in financial protection and wealth management, with major operations in Western Europe, North America and the Asia/Pacific area.  Their individual and business services cater to over 50 million customers throughout the world.  The AXA Group reported total revenues for the full year 2006 of €79 billion, underlying earnings of €4,010 million and had €1,315 billion in assets under management as of 31 December 2006.

The AXA Protection Account was launched successfully in 2004.  Ricky Reeves and Paul Evans led the team responsible for implementing the core administration platform to support the Protection Account, directing and managing the programme respectively from the scoping and requirements definition phase to the end of the warranty period.

The project was successfully delivered to budget, and enabled AXA to implement the programme within a nine month timeframe from contract signing to go live demonstrating the delivery ability of the team to implement life insurance systems quickly and cost effectively.  Whilst quick delivery was imperative to AXA to take advantage of the market opportunities, the programme also adhered to rigorous quality control allowing a stable solution to be promoted to production with zero defects.
